I have just officially launched a new Hubzilla website for one of the world's leading drone ambient musician Mathias Grassow. When reading reviews you get a lot "masterpiece", "he's the greatest", "his music touches me on a very deep emotional level" and so on. I personally can subscribe to all those statements. https://mathias-grassow.de
The first time I was mesmerized by his music was about 2003, his colab with Alio Die "Expanding Horizon". On new year's eve 2019 I contacted him because I loved his latest release so very much I published a review that I sent him. It's still one of my highlights from 2018: A soundtrack to Edgar Allen Poe's short story "The Fall Of The House Of Usher"
If you want to listen in to another favourite of mine, I recommend the album Himalaya
, more than one hour of droning bliss, if you ask me. :)
We kept contact and as he urgently needed a new website I volunteered. For me it's an exciting opportunity to get to know Hubzilla from another angle, and to find out how someone who has never heard of this platform before will use it and where we could simplify the handling.
Our intention is to in adition to the channel create a private space for anyone who wants to connect on a more personal basis, which will include the chance for special offers, exclusive tracks etc. I still have got some work to do but we are itching to get public.
So here we are. I will guide him a lot and do a lot of the posting, but the plan is to get him more and more involved as we progress. It's a learning curve for him, but it's exciting.
I have contemplated opening Hubzilla to the federation, but finally opted for Zot only due to the improved privacy control features.
Pretty sure ambient drones are are not for everyone, but I am really happy to give back a bit of the emotional support his music has given me.
This is for all the drone hearts around here. I also call this "music that makes me fly".
